Kalamkari is one of the oldest art forms that comes from South of India.
Pen Kalamkari is an ancient art form that brings stories to life on a canvas of fabric. Pen Kalamkari is often used to depict deities and scenes taken from the Hindu epics - Ramayana and Mahabharata.
This saree is completely hand painted using natural colours and dyes, which gives it the unique Earthy tones and textures. The beautiful Lotus flowers on the saree have been painted by hand on a deep magical background of brown silk.
The pallu of this saree is its highlight - it depicts a very traditional floral jaal print in red and deep earthy browns. The body of the saree is a solid silk, to allow the pallu with all its hand work to shine through. Scalloped sequin and gold embroidery along the edges gives the saree just the right amount of shimmer, shine and glamour.
